PRESS RELEASE: Viper Strengthens Australian Market Position with Appointment of Local Consultant

December 10, 2021

Viper Innovations is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Upjohn as Business Development Consultant for Australia. The appointment reflects Viper’s international growth strategy to maintain and grow its customer base in key global markets within the Subsea Oil & Gas Industry.

“It’s our pleasure to have Paul joining the Viper BD team, as he brings significant experience and local market knowledge. I look forward to working closely together as we look to enhance and grow our relationships with existing clients and expand our presence in the Australian market.” James Carnegie, Business Development Manager- Subsea.

Paul brings over 15 years of Subsea experience working within the Australian and Asian Pacific regions. His local industry knowledge and expert skills provide the best possible service for Viper’s Australian customer base, with the additional benefit of a local representative working within the same time-zone.

Viper have enjoyed significant operational success in the Australian Subsea Oil & Gas market to-date and aims to continue helping more customers with future V- LIM and V-LIFE operations aided by the additional support which Paul brings to the team.

Paul commented “I have followed the success of Viper for a good number of years since they began offering their products here in Australia and I’m pleased to be associated with another high-level technical organisation. I’m looking forward to being able to work closely with Viper’s existing customers and to work with operators in applications where V-LIM and V-LIFE can help recover the electrical integrity of subsea circuits suffering from low insulation resistance. These faults often lead to loss of power or communications to subsea equipment and have the potential to halt production from subsea wells. Before V-LIFE became available subsea fault-finding interventions and replacement of cables, equipment and umbilicals were the only solutions to this problem so it’s great to be able to bring a proven and cost effective alternative to customers when budgets are stretched and maximising production from existing infrastructure is so important.”
