The Royal Niger Emerging Technologies & Viper Innovations Collaboration Launch Event in Lagos

December 12, 2018

Royal Niger Emerging Technologies Ltd hosted an evening event on the 14th of November in Nigeria to promote their recently signed distributor agreement with UK-based technology supplier, Viper Innovations Ltd. The collaboration will offer Nigerian customers the joint benefits of Viper’s range of electrical integrity monitoring equipment and Royal Niger’s extensive in-country experience in the upstream industry.

The event took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos, where Jeremy Edwards, Viper’s Business Development Manager for Subsea Integrity Services, gave a presentation on the Electrical Integrity products and services on offer, including the revolutionary V-LIFE insulation resistance recovery service, winner of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in the UK. After the presentations and Q&A, the attendees enjoyed some dinner and music.

Olu Adewunmi from The Royal Niger commented: “Royal Niger would like to thank the industry for its continued support for Nigerian Content inclusion within the Subsea Umbilicals scope and would appreciate the same support as we continue to deepen in-country capacity through the relationship with Viper Innovations.”

The event marked an exciting beginning to our collaboration with the Nigerian Community, where we aim to help our Nigerian customers optimise their operations by maximising asset life while scoring an important point for Nigerian Content by domiciling capability in-country. Neil Douglas, Managing Director of Viper Innovations said “We see Nigeria as a growth market and there are lots of business opportunities if you can provide leading-edge technology coupled with local content. As part of our collaboration objectives we will be training Royal Niger Personnel to provide the in-country support for our services and installation of our hardware. This will help Royal Niger build on their current capabilities and capacity. We are all looking forward to the future with not only Viper and Royal Niger benefiting from the collaboration but also our clients will benefit from award-winning technologies to extend field life and reduce operational costs.”

As Ivan Paoli, Executive Director at Royal Niger Emerging Technologies said, “The relationship between Viper Innovations and Royal Niger is one we are excited by and trust that with the Royal Niger track record of local content implementation, we can assist in developing local capacity so Royal Niger Technicians can carry out integrity checks and repairs using Viper equipment.”

Viper Innovations Ltd are excited by the opportunities presented by their distributor agreement with Royal Niger Emerging Technologies and are extremely grateful to all who attended the launch event in Lagos and helped to make the evening such a success.
