V-LOCK® in the Gulf of Mexico

January 11, 2011

Viper Subsea have secured that all-important first order for its leading edge V-LOCK® stabplate product in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Energy Products Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation in Stafford, Texas, has placed an order following a competitive bid process and covers the engineering, manufacture and supply of ‘fixed’ and ‘free’ V-LOCK®, test plates and corresponding marine growth protective covers. The equipment is destined for an intervention system in the Gulf of Mexico, with V-LOCK® deliveries scheduled for May 2011.

The V-LOCK® suite of products have been designed in consultation with industry clients and operators over a period of more than two years and have undergone an extensive qualification program. The result is a product that offers significant technical benefits, including its patented positively actuated secondary release mechanism and the extremely high clamping and decoupling forces. These benefits contribute to making the V-LOCK® a product that meets the technical demands for the foreseeable future.
