PRESS RELEASE: Viper Grows Business Development Team With Two New Appointments

July 22, 2021

Viper Innovations is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Rylance as Business Development Manager (Rail UK) and Iain Rodger as Account Manager (Subsea). The growth reflects Viper’s success in the global subsea oil & gas and rail industries, where its award-winning products and services provide vital electrical monitoring and asset integrity solutions. The breadth of expert skills and knowledge within Viper’s Sales department enables delivery of the best possible service for their customers.

Anthony brings significant experience from his previous role as Technical Sales Manager for Unipart Rail, where he was responsible for securing the first contracts to supply Functional Supply Points (FSPs) and Distribution Interface Transformer Assemblies (DITA) made in-house by the company. In addition to his work relating to rail power & signalling, Anthony brings a wealth of experience from the renewable power generation sector.

Anthony commented, “I am delighted to have joined Viper Innovations as BDM at this significant time in the organisation’s growth and an exciting time for the CableGuardian product as it is demonstrating its value for Network Rail. The benefits of the Tier 1 protection and remote condition monitoring provided by CableGuardian are already contributing towards Network Rail’s stated aims of avoiding 1.3m hours of maintenance and 500,000 minutes of passenger delays and reducing the costs associated with these. CableGuardian fits perfectly within the principles of Intelligent Infrastructure and the Digital Railway today and with the planned developments for the system, it can only add more value to rail operators globally in the future.”

Anthony Rylance Business Development
Iain Rodger Business Development

Iain brings experience from his previous role as Senior Subsea Controls Engineer within Viper’s Product & Service Delivery team, where he was the focal point for key North Sea operators, specialising in prognostics and diagnostics on Subsea Production Control Systems (SPCS). Iain previously held a number of engineering roles in the Subsea Lifecycle Services department at Aker Solutions, most notably being responsible for service delivery, installation, and commissioning of the EnQuest Kraken SPCS. Before working in the energy industry, Iain spent fourteen years in the quality-driven, hi-tech aviation and defence sectors.

Iain commented, “I am hugely excited to join the Business Development team as Account Manager for Subsea. This newly created role solidifies Viper Innovation’s commitment to providing the very best customer experience for our clients, delivering innovative technology and engineering that are key to the sustainability of existing and future subsea developments. Having worked first-hand on the products and services that we provide, I am extremely keen to support the continued growth and deployment of V-LIM & V-LIFE and develop our provision of asset integrity management solutions.”

These appointments follow three other additions to the Business Development team within the last 18 months – James Carnegie as Business Development Manager (Subsea) in August 2020 and Gavin Mason as Senior Sales Engineer (Subsea) in January 2021. Brazilian Business Development Manager Diego Baraldi joined the team remotely in April 2020 to strengthen Viper’s position in the South American market. Further growth of Viper’s Business Development team is underway along with plans for more local market representatives in key regions across the globe.
