Viper Sponsors Norwegian Subsea Controls Conference

November 11, 2021

Viper Innovations sponsored, exhibited, and presented at the NFEA (Norwegian Society of Electrical and Automatic Control) Subsea Controls Conference which took place on the 3rd and 4th November in Kristiansand, Norway.

Postponed in 2020 because of COVID restrictions, this year’s conference was well attended with around 100 delegates, and importantly, a good mix of Operators, Service Companies, Product Companies, and Consultants. The conference is now run in English, and so the delegates and speakers make it a conference with an international flavour.

Viper Innovations were a conference sponsor and were one of a few exhibitors which provided an opportunity for client discussions during the many conference breaks and networking sessions. Viper Director, Neil Douglas, gave the conference’s final presentation, which looked at electrical failures in subsea systems that are a specific consequence of systems that have long umbilicals.

Over the two days, a lot of interest was generated in Viper’s electrical integrity products and services—specifically the V-LIM, V-LIFE, and V-SLIM. The V-SLIM has already been installed in Norwegian waters, and the benefits of this technology are now widely recognised, which therefore drove a number of project-specific enquiries.

The Christiansholm Festning (Fortress), dating back to 1658, was the location for the main networking event on the Wednesday evening. Old and new acquaintances enjoyed some Norwegian Fayre and a few glasses of wine and beer. A great first conference after the many months of COVID restrictions.
