What is V-NET Sync?
V-NET Sync is a synchronisation feature within V-LIM that ensures accurate insulation resistance monitoring in multi-channel systems where cross-coupling can occur.
In complex electrical environments – such as subsea umbilicals or closely routed cables—signals from multiple monitoring devices can interfere with each other. This can distort readings and reduce confidence in insulation data.
V-NET Sync eliminates this issue by coordinating measurements across devices, ensuring each V-LIM unit operates independently while contributing to a coherent, system-wide view of insulation performance.
How V-NET Sync works
V-NET Sync enables V-LIM units to synchronise their measurements over a shared Ethernet network.
One unit acts as the reference (server), while others follow in sync (clients). This coordination prevents overlapping signals and eliminates measurement interference, allowing each unit to focus solely on its assigned channel.
