Viper Innovations has been named PwC “Winner of Winners” Business of the Year 2018 for the South West, in the category for businesses with less than £30m turnover.
The award recognises Viper as an innovative UK engineering company delivering advanced electrical integrity and asset protection technologies for global industries including offshore energy and rail infrastructure.

V-LIFE delivers breakthrough capability in subsea electrical cable protection
One of Viper’s key technologies, V-LIFE, provides a unique method of restoring the integrity of subsea electrical cables affected by water ingress.
Launched in 2012, V-LIFE helps operators extend asset life and reduce maintenance costs by providing an alternative to full cable recovery and replacement. CableGuardian expands Viper’s technology into rail infrastructure monitoring
Viper has further developed its electrical engineering expertise through the adaptation of its insulation monitoring technology for use in the rail sector, in collaboration with UK infrastructure stakeholders.
The result is CableGuardian, an advanced rail electrical condition monitoring and fault detection system used in signalling power supply networks.
CableGuardian provides real-time visibility of electrical cable condition, helping operators identify insulation degradation and faults early, reduce service interruptions and improve maintenance efficiency across rail infrastructure.
The technology also offers significant export potential beyond the UK rail market as demand for rail infrastructure monitoring solutions continues to grow internationally.
