Viper Innovations Wins Subsea UK Innovation Award for V-LIFE Subsea Technology

Viper Innovations has been recognised for its innovative approach to subsea asset integrity after winning the Innovation & Technology Award at the Subsea UK Business Awards 2014 for its V-LIFE technology.

The award recognises companies developing and commercialising innovative technologies that solve challenges within the subsea industry. V-LIFE was recognised for its ability to address one of the long-term challenges facing subsea electrical systems: insulation degradation caused by water ingress and extended operation in harsh subsea environments.

V-LIFE improves subsea cable and umbilical integrity

Launched in 2013, V-LIFE was developed to help operators extend the operational life of ageing subsea umbilicals and electrical distribution systems.

Installed topside with no subsea intervention required, V-LIFE increases insulation resistance within subsea electrical systems while continuously monitoring umbilical condition. This provides operators with greater visibility of asset health and helps reduce the risk of unexpected failures.

By improving insulation resistance and extending the life of subsea cables and connectors, V-LIFE can help reduce the need for costly subsea intervention, repairs and equipment replacement.
