The Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Electronics Design Engineer to join our Research Team, spearheading our R&D efforts in creating groundbreaking electronic circuits for our next-generation condition monitoring products. This role is perfect for innovators passionate about prototype development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement in the realm of electronic circuit design.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Research and Development: Lead R&D efforts in electronics circuit design and develop detailed schematics and PCB layouts for prototypes. Your work will also employ advanced simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, Proteus, Simulink) to model and predict circuit behaviour under various conditions, ensuring the feasibility of designs.
• Testing and Validation: Play a critical role in our product development lifecycle by executing comprehensive testing and validation processes. Your hands-on lab skills will be vital in developing prototypes, debugging, and refining our circuits to meet high standards of reliability and efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement and Optimization: Regularly review and optimize current circuit designs to identify and implement enhancements. Your efforts will ensure our products remain competitive by integrating the latest trends and technologies.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work in tandem with the embedded software team and cross-functional engineering groups to achieve seamless hardware-software integration. Documenting and sharing your design processes and outcomes will contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

What We Are Looking For:

• Hons Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science or proven work experience in line with the skills or knowledge required for the role.
• Proven experience in electronics circuit design, with a portfolio of successful R&D projects, from idea creation to implementation, with a focus on innovation and proof of concept development.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic theories
• Proficiency in PCB design and layout, preferably using Altium.
• Proficient in modeling and simulating electronic circuits using LTSpice, Proteus, Simulink, or similar software.
• Solid understanding of embedded electronics and embedded software programming (C/C++).
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

– Desirable, but not essential:

• Experience in embedded software programming.
• Experience in digital signal processing.
• Experience in condition monitoring or instrumentation.
• Knowledge of reflectometry-based technologies (e.g. TDR, FDR, SSTDR, etc.)
• Knowledge of communication theories
