International Women in Engineering Day

June 23, 2022

We’re thrilled to be supporting ‘International Women in Engineering Day’ and to celebrate our wonderful women engineers at Viper and their amazing work.

As stated on the official International Women in Engineering Day website, “statistics reported as of June 2021 show that only 16.5% of engineers are women, The Women’s Engineering Society provides women engineers around the world a profile when they are still hugely under-represented in their professions. As the only platform of its kind, it plays a vital role in encouraging more young women and girls to take up engineering careers”.

At Viper we’re committed to increasing the number of women in engineering and have taken part in a multiple community and school activities to inspire and encourage the next generation of women to follow opportunities for in a STEM career.  We have run a series of ‘Coding Clubs’ during the school holidays, visited local schools to talk about engineering careers and offered a substantial number of work experience and apprenticeship placements within our Engineering Department.

We have asked some of Viper’s inspiring women engineers, to share their stories and inspirations for following a career in engineering.
